Following a presentation I did at Vancouver BMW Ducati on Dec. 1, 2016 of mine and Dave’s trip thus far, there were requests I post the Facts and Stats section of the show online, so here it is! The following is a tally of various things over the past year that I’ve kept track of (I’m kind of a nerd that way.).
If you have any questions or comments, we’re happy to answer anytime.
Very cool to see the stats. Nice addition to the blog
Thanks!
I LOVE YOUR STATS! HOW COOL IS DAT!
Thanks Ray!
just found your website and its similar to mine rtwpaul.com, we have covered almost identical distances, stats are very similar, except tires, you have used double the amount of tires for the same distance…the one stat you don’t show is how much you’ve spent to date?
Hi Paul, some of our tires wore down much faster than planned as we had to do several thousand more miles on pavement with nobbies, which we hadn’t expected. We don’t think it’s appropriate to tell everyone how much money we’ve spent but I can tell you we budgeted for approx. $100 USD per day (or $50 USD per person) and are falling more or less within that budget, no including flights, special occasions like travelling to the Galapagos, and unforeseen costs like me having to buy a new bike. BTW, great blog. I read your About page, wow, you sure have had some ups and downs in life. Good for you for all you’ve accomplished. Thanks for your interest in our trip.
