The stock seat that came with my G650GS had a pressure point in it that pressed on my tailbone. After a few hours of riding I’d be pretty uncomfortable. I decided to have a seat custom made for my butt at Rich’s Custom Seats. Best to have a full day available and a lot of patience to sit and wait—it’ll be worth it in the end. Amazing leather finish stitch design, a fairly good amount of time spent on ergonomics and fun stories told to and from other riders while waiting. Although I, along with most of the other riders, was there for almost 7 hours (!!), I figure it’s worth that and the $800 CAN to save my ass—literally—on a two year ride. I’ll post updates along the way as to how this custom gel seat works for me.
